A woman was shot twice by officers from the Port Saint Joe Police Department when she rushed at a cop with a long knife during a traffic stop.
The police stopped 41-year-old Tikila Walker after she was involved in multiple hit-and-run incidents with the vehicle while she was trying to evade the repossession of her car
The police-cam footage showed the officers ordering her to drop the knife she was holding while she was in the driver’s seat of the car, then tasing her.
But she came out of the vehicle and charged at Sergeant Morrison with a 16-inch knife. The officer shot her once, and another officer shot her. The bullets hit her in the right arm and pelvis.
“She came at me with a knife, what the hell did you expect me to do?” Officer Morrison responded to a bystander yelling at her about why she used her firearm. Watch below:
Walker survived the shooting and is being held in the Bay County Jail, where she will be charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence.
The incident happened on August 15, but the video was released by the PSJPD on Tuesday.
