Woman Found Dead In LA Forest After Husband Seen Dragging Suspected Body In Cloth Cover- Video

The body of a Peruvian woman and mother of three children was found in the Los Angeles National Forest on August 16, four days after she went missing on August 12.

The late woman, identified as 33-year-old Sheylla Gutierrez, was reported missing in California, and a day after investigations on her whereabouts were launched, footage from a surveillance camera showed her husband, Jossimar Cabrera, dragging an unknown but bulky item concealed inside a thick fabric material.

Video of the 36-year-old man dragging the suspicious item away from their apartment complex at Lancaster Boulevard heightened his suspicion of being the prime suspect in the crime.

The suspicion grew worse when the husband gave contradicting accounts of his wife’s whereabouts. He told her family that she was picked up by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), claimed that she had eloped with another man, and, in another instance, said she was involved in an accident.

Prior to Sheylla’s death, she lived in the home with her husband and children, who are now under the custody of the state. Her dead body was found by the combined efforts of rescue teams combing the forest area in the morning. An autopsy is underway by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine her cause of death.

Efforts are been made by the local police to apprehend the husband, who is now at large after fleeing to Peru. Sheylla’s mother, Helga Rocillo, is also calling on the Federal agencies to take up the matter.

Helga revealed that her daughter had complained about her husband’s psychological and physical torture on her and their children, and was set to file a formal complaint against him and leave him.

The Peruvian authorities acknowledged that Jossimar arrived in the country with the children, but could not arrest him because of no existing warrant. Meanwhile, the L.A. Sheriff’s Office is working on getting the approval to extradite him back to the United States, where he will face murder charges.
