
Monday experienced another tragic experience as a shooting was recorded in the morning outside the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Nevada, where three individuals passed away and many others were injured.
The shooting, which occurred around 7:25 a.m. PT, prompted authorities to rush to the scene.
Chris Crawforth, the Sparks Police Chief, mentioned in his release that the shooter had initially moved closer to a group somewhere close to the valet area, but his weapon did not work well.
After he had successfully fixed the weapon, he fired shots at five people, and two of them died. He later escaped through a parking area, where he shot a security guard and fatally shot a bystander who was driving by.
The gunman also shot at officers who were at the scene to respond to the crime, hitting a patrol vehicle, before he was shot, sustaining critical injuries. Two of the people that the suspect shot at are in critical condition, while one has been released from the medical facility.
Police also mentioned in their release that no connection between the victims and the shooter has been ascertained, and his intention is yet to be known.
Officers got to the crime scene in less than 3 minutes after they got the first emergency call.
