15-time NBA All-Star Kevin Durant would be moving to the Houston Rockets, as the Phoenix Suns are planning to bring Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks into their squad.
Both franchises are in agreement, but they would have to wait till the season starts before they can complete the signing.
Durant has always wanted to play for the Houston Rockets, especially since he became a legend in the game. If it were not with Houston, then he would have played for the San Antonio Spurs or the Miami Heat.
He spoke highly about the Rockets, claiming that their leadership was great and it reflected on their season.
Durant has been one of the best in the game since he started. He averaged at least 25 points and 50% field goal shooting in his last three seasons.
If he completes his deal with the Houston Rockets, he would also be playing under his long-time friend Udoka, who just signed a new long-term deal with the Rockets. Udoka’s long-term deal makes him one of the highest-paid coaches in the league.
“Being part of the Houston Rockets, I’m looking forward to it,” Durant told Kay Adams on Sunday. “Crazy, crazy last couple weeks, but I’m glad it’s over with.”
The Suns had been working on getting Durant to another franchise for a while now. The returns on him were robust. Apart from getting two starters from the Rockets, they get a 2025 first-round pick. They also get the 5-second round pick this year, two next year, one in 2030, and another in 2032.
Jalen Green, who is replacing Durant, is currently averaging 21 points per game with 4.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists.
