A man had his head and body run over by a jeep while he was lying on the sandy beach and enjoying a quick nap. Luckily he lived to tell the tale.
The incident happened to Coleson Janey Saturday morning while he was sunbathing in Ormond Beach, Florida, when he was violently woken up by a Jeep Wrangler that went over him.
The 33-year-old suffered a broken arm and leg and was rushed to the hospital where he was reported to be in stable condition and being treated for his injuries.
The driver of the jeep was a 61-year-old woman who was entering a parking spot in reverse when she went off course and climbed the man.
Recalling the pain he felt, Coleson said he was torn between the excruciating pain and damage his body just took and sheer distress, after seeing his flattened arm and mangled legs.
His femur was broken and doctors had to fit in a rod so he could walk again. He reported that his rehabilitation would include months of being confined to a wheelchair and using crutches to walk.
The driver of the car was tested for DUI and came out clean. To the surprise of the victim’s family, she was only issued a ticket for careless driving by the police. However, the Volusia Sheriff’s Department said that investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
