Tens of half-naked women from the feminist group called “FEMEN” took to the streets of Paris, France, to demonstrate the rise of fascism in America and Europe on International Women’s Day on March 8.

With an outsretched hand, flag of either the United States or Russia and nazi swastika and an inscription “fascist epidemic” painted on their chests, the topless women chanted “Epidemie fasciste, riposte feministe” in French, which translates to “Fascist epidemic, feminist response” in English.

The group of unclad women also wore caps similar to the WW2 military garrison caps and wrote the word “NO” above their lips, looking like Hitler’s mustache.

“Epidemia fascista, retaliação feminista”! 🇫🇷 Uma ação de ativistas seminuas hoje em Paris, num protesto em que denunciam “a ascensão do fascismo na Europa e no mundo”. Uma ação deste tipo já tinha sido vista em Kiev com uma ativista seminua, munida de um bigode pintado à Hitler, no dia em que Alice Weidel da AfD teve um resultado histórico na Alemanha.

The Femen women protested against US President Trump and Russia’s President Putin and also opposed the clampdown on LGBTQIA and other far-right ideologies while pushing for a feminist Europe. Participants called for women in the United States to join their movement so it could have more impact.

“Our infantry, unarmed and nonviolent, will always be ready. We refuse to serve as a Trojan horse for the repugnant ideas of identitarian groups”, the group wrote on Instagram.

Members of the Femen group have voiced their distaste at salary disparity between men and women France, where the man earns 14% more on average than their female counterparts. “We will not look away as the violent wave of masculinism sweeps across the world,” the women’s activist group noted.

The feminist rally took place across 150 locations in France. While the organizer reported that 250,000 people took part in the demonstration, authorities put the figure at 47,000.

The Femen activist also voiced out against the Taliban rule in Afghanistan where women’s rights are been trampled upon. The Eiffel Tower was lit up later in the evening, and the message “SOS Afghan Women” was displayed in French, English, Farsi, and Arabic.
