A now trending video is said to show the moment a Ukrainian man narrowly escaped being caught and forcefully enlisted into the army when the door of his home was opened and he quickly entered inside, as a military personnel approached him.
The footage was captured by the home’s surveillance camera. It saw the man running up the stairs and banging frantically at the door for someone inside to open for him.
Watching his most dreaded moment catch him, the unidentified man turned to face the fellow who was now casually coming up to him, and another man casually waited in the compound.
In a twist of luck, a woman opened the door and immediately ushered him inside, and the supposedly enlister turned around to leave. Video below:
In the comment section, some thought the video might have happened in Russia and not Ukraine because the man said “spaciba” while the Ukrainians say “дякую”. Both of them mean “thank you” in their respective languages.
Ukraine has been known to randomly arrest men in public and forcefully conscribe them into the army to fight against Russia in the ongoing war.
From civilians kidnapped and forced to fight when they left home to buy bread to injured soldiers abandoned by their comrades, and pregnant female soldiers left to die in the woods – many tales of such abound.
