The federal government has held the opinion that an inclusive and more diverse workforce would serve the American people better. This opinion has been held for the past four years.
President Trump did not wait a week after his inauguration before he finally shifted direction abruptly from it with just a mark with a pen.
The president signed an executive order on Monday that put a last closure to the “illegal DEI and ‘diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility’ (DEIA) mandates, policies, programs, preferences, and activities in the Federal Government, under whatever nomenclature they are known.”
He also signed other executive orders the following day that reversed so many longstanding directives from Joe Biden’s time as American president.
The other executive orders he signed on Tuesday include those that were initiated during the time of Bill Clinton that require agencies of the federal government to look into environmental justice for low-income and minority populations, and another one from the administration of former president Lyndon B. Johnson ensuring the non-discriminatory hiring practices for contractors of the government.
Federal government agencies are paying no attention to the critics of these policies as they have swung into implementing Trump’s vision.
