Video: Elon Musk’s “Nazi Salute” At Trump Inauguration Sparks Controversy

Elon Musk has faced criticism from the citizens of the United States after a seemingly Nazi salute gesture he made during the inauguration of President Donald Trump.

It happened when Musk appreciated the congregation for making the victory happen while he was speaking at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. He then placed his hand over his heart and also put it forward. He made the gesture again to the people behind him.

Watch the video below:

Users on X took to the platform to criticize Elon Musk’s actions as they compared it to a “Sieg Heil.” Those who see the gesture as a Nazi salute include historians Claire Aubin and Ruth Ben-Ghiat, which has caused widespread condemnation.

The gesture also ignited previous fears about Trump’s administration as a brutal and authoritarian rule that only cares about the special top and will be hungry to capture nations.

One of the executive orders he signed on his first day included changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. He had previously hinted at colonizing or rather absorbing Canada to become the 51st state in the US.

A confidant of Elon Musk, Andrea Stroppa formerly tagged the gesture as a “Roman salute,” but later compared it to his autism and an expression of emotion.

The tech boss himself has ruled out the accusations, tagging them “tired attacks.” Musk’s solidarity with the newly sworn-in as his politics leans further right, including his newly appointed position by Donald Trump as the Department of Government Efficiency.

This is not the first time Trump’s side has been affiliated with pro-Nazi. During his campaign, imposters infiltrated his Jupiter boat parade in Florida, showing off neo–Nazi insignia and making racist statements. Though the supposedly imposters might have wanted to show what they thought he was, MAGA supporters saw them as trying to defame him.
