The US President-elect Donald Trump has announced the intention of pushing forward Massad Boulos, who is a Lebanese-American businessman and father-in-law to his daughter Tiffany, as Senior Advisor on Arab and Middle Eastern affairs.
The Lebanese-American businessman, who was a key player in rounding up Arab American and Muslim voters when Trump was still a candidate and campaign, will navigate complex issues, including the war that is currently going on between Israel and Gaza and disruptions in Lebanon and Syria.
The president-elect did not hide his admiration for Boulus while he also commended him for his insight in business and the leadership roles that he plays within the Republican party.
This appointment is an addition to many of Donald Trump’s controversial appointments that have received criticism from the people of America, including that of Charles Kushner as U.S. Ambassador to France and Kash Patel as FBI Director.
This nomination follows up at a time that the country faces pressure to address the war and other tensions in the Middle East. The question now remains whether he will be able to manage the position with his business background and family ties.
