The downtown part of San Francisco received its first-ever tornado warning on Saturday during a strong storm. The warning came to an end at 6:14 a.m. after the storm moved away.
Warnings were also issued by the National Weather Service in regard to possible strong winds and heavy rain.
The winds were that powerful that gusts at the airport attained 83 miles per hour! Palm trees were seen in videos shaking because of the heavy wind, and more than 10,000 people lost their power in the city.
There are always more than nine tornadoes that happen yearly in California, but a tornado warning has never occurred before in downtown San Francisco.
A big earthquake off the coast had already caused a warning of a tsunami a week before. The earthquake is not the usual one, as this measured 7.0 magnitude and occurred somewhere close to a city called Eureka.
Those that lived around the coast were issued warnings to leave their homes, but fortunately, the tsunami did not occur.
While the earthquake caused no damage, professionals revealed that it is very necessary to stay safe during earthquakes and storms because they can be very dangerous.
