RFK Jr. Supports Plan To Remove Fluoride From Drinking Water In The US

RFK Jr. Pushes Plan to Remove Fluoride from U.S. Drinking Water

Donald Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. may push forward a controversial proposal to potentially remove fluoride from the United States drinking water if Trump is re-elected.

Kennedy, who is an environmental lawyer and a former independent presidential candidate, shared on X that if Trump wins the 2024 Presidential race, his administration would recommend that all U.S. water systems remove fluoride. He argues that fluoride is a form of industrial waste associated with numerous health problems, including arthritis and cognitive disorders.

“Fluoride is associated with arthritis, bone fractures, bone cancer, IQ loss, neurodevelopmental disorders, and thyroid disease,” Kennedy claimed.

Fluoridating water, a practice that started in 1945, is generally backed by public health officials. The CDC estimates that more than 200 million people consume fluoride-enhanced water, which has proven effective in reducing dental decay. However, it is argued that more research is needed to fully understand fluoride’s effects on health, especially concerning children’s developmental outcomes.

Trump has also pledged to give Kennedy a role in a future administration, particularly in managing public health. During one of his recent rallies, the former President stated, “I would let Kennedy go wild on health,” seemingly letting the public know that he supports the politician’s views on various health issues. However, Kennedy’s endorsement of Trump after stepping out of the presidential race has gotten a lot of people talking about the influence he may wield should Trump reclaim the presidency

His contentious views on vaccines and public health may sway Trump’s policy direction. The Republican candidate has been open to discussing vaccinations with Kennedy in the past, and this could mean that major changes in public health policy might be on the way.
