Joe Rogan, a popular and influential podcast host, has officially thrown his support behind Donald Trump for president, and Trump’s campaign has quickly welcomed the endorsement.
The 57-year-old UFC commentator gave his endorsement following a lengthy three-hour interview with tech billionaire Elon Musk. Musk has been a vocal supporter of Trump and has even been offering prizes to registered voters in battleground states, a move that some view as potentially illegal.
Rogan posted on X, praising Musk and stating, “The great and powerful @elonmusk. If it wasn’t for him we’d be f**ked. He makes what I think is the most compelling case for Trump you’ll hear, and I agree with him every step of the way.” He added, “For the record, yes, that’s an endorsement of Trump. Enjoy the podcast.”
Trump, who was campaigning in Pittsburgh when the endorsement was made, expressed his gratitude, saying, “It just came over the wires that Joe Rogan just endorsed me, is that great. Thank you, Joe. That’s so nice. And he doesn’t do that, he doesn’t do that stuff.”
Rogan’s podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience,” is known for its wide reach and influence, particularly among young men. The podcast has featured a variety of guests, including controversial figures like Kanye West and Edward Snowden. Joe Rogan has previously interviewed Donald Trump, and the episode, which aired ten days ago, has already garnered more than 40 million views on YouTube.
In contrast, Democratic nominee Kamala Harris has received endorsements from several high-profile celebrities, including Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, Cher and Beyoncé. However, Rogan’s endorsement of Trump is expected to have a significant impact due to his large following and the demographic he appeals to. Edison Research indicates that more than 75% of Rogan’s audience consists of men, and among them, about half are aged between 18 and early thirties.
Nevertheless, for months, both the Republican and the Democratic campaigns have been working hard to win over undecided voters in what is expected to be a close race. As of the time of writing, election results have still not been announced.
