Video: Israeli Forces Kill Journalist, Critically Injure Aljazeera Pressman

AlJazeera’s journalist Fadi al-Wahidi was part of the press that was attacked by Israeli forces in northern Gaza. Though he survived the shooting, one of the journalist was killed.

Fadi al-Wahidi was attacked on Wednesday despite wearing a press vest while he was covering Jabalia refugee camp. According to Al Jazeera’s Anas al-Sharif, Al-Wahid who was a photographer was shot in the neck by an Israeli sniper during a coverage.

Videos which were shared online showed Al-Wahid running amids a shootout and another clip showed him lying on the ground, after he was hit by the bullet. Watch below:

Al Jazeera said Al-Wahidi was the second journalist from their press that have been attacked by the Isareli army this week. It was reported that he was in a critical condition and there was no treatment available there.

The TV network in a statement claimed the attack was purposely targeted at them, calling on the violation of the rights of the press to cover acts of war as Israel’s forces continue sweeping through Jabalia camp. It also claimed that the Isareli forces have ordered all the residents to leave the area, yet, they continue to shoot at people trying to flee.

Al-Jazeera in the statement raised a motion for Israel to be tried for war crimes for repeatedly targeting journalists on the battleground and violating international laws protecting the press and humanitarian workers. According to reports, 175 media personnel have been killed in the war.

It could be recalled that a vehicle carrying seven UN workers from World Central Kitchen (WCK) was bombed by the Israeli forces, despite the vehicle being marked on the roof.

Online sentiments on X allege that many of the journalists, including Aljazeera’s press, might have been working as undercover agents for the Hamas militants in Palestine.

In May, the IDF released a video where it claimed the United Nations were aiding Hamas. The drone footage showed suspected Hamas militants in UN cars and building.
