Video: Mel Gibson Compares Kamala Harris’ IQ To A Fence Post While Endorsing Donald Trump

Mel Gibson Criticizes Kamala Harris Intelligence While Endorsing Donald Trump for 2024 Election

Director and filmmaker Mel Gibson has publicly endorsed Donald Trump for the 2024 presidential election, while making disparaging remarks about the intelligence of Vice President Kamala Harris. In a less than 1-minute interview with TMZ, Gibson, 68, did not hold back his opinions on the Democratic nominee, stating that Harris has “the IQ of a fence post.”

The exchange took place at Los Angeles International Airport, where a TMZ photographer asked Gibson about his thoughts on the upcoming election. “I don’t think it’s going to surprise anyone who I vote for,” Gibson said. When the cameraman guessed Trump, the actor confirmed, “I think that’s a pretty good guess.”

Mel Gibson went on to criticize Harris’ track record, describing it as “miserable” and “appalling,” and claimed she has “no policies to speak of.” He also mentioned that he was concerned about the potential consequences of a Harris presidency, stating, “I know what it’ll be like if we let her in, and that ain’t good.”

This endorsement is not entirely unexpected, as Gibson has previously shown support for Trump. Last year, the “Braveheart” star was once seen having a discussion with the Republican Presidential candidate at the UFC 290 fight in Las Vegas.

Despite this, Gibson has not always been vocal about his political affiliations, having refrained from endorsing Trump in the last two US elections.

Mel Gibson’s comments come shortly after fellow actor Andrew Garfield voiced his support for the controversial actor-director. Garfield, who starred in Gibson’s 2016 war film “Hacksaw Ridge,” praised Gibson for his personal growth and healing. “People deserve second chances, third chances, fourth chances. None of us are infallible,” Garfield said in an interview with People. He added that Gibson has “a very, very big, compassionate heart” and deserves to continue making films.

For context, Gibson has been involved in multiple controversies, including a DUI arrest in 2006, during which he made antisemitic remarks, and a leaked tape in which he used a racial slur. Despite these incidents, some in Hollywood, like Garfield, believe in his capacity for redemption.
