Manchester United won a home game against Brentford after beating the team 2-1, breaking their winless charm. The team was pressured, as it almost seemed like their winless streak would not have ended after Brentford’s Ethan Pinnock scored a header in the first half that gave the team a lead.
In the second half, Manchester United pulled off an equalizer and finally won the game after Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund showcased a much-improved performance and scored a goal each. This victory pushed the Red Devils forward a bit into the top half of the Premier League table ahead of their midweek game against Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce.
Manchester United had beautiful opportunities in the first half with many chances created, especially the one through the dynamic Garnacho, but these chances could not achieve anything because Brentford controlled the game with their known passing style that led to the goal by Pinnock from a corner while Matthijs de Ligt was excused for some time due to his call for treatment.
Manchester United’s manager could not exercise patience as it seemed he was going to lose another game in the season, as evidenced by his frustration that caused him a yellow card for his complaint.
The game later changed in favor of Manchester United after they had a strong team talk at halftime, which finally led to their victory. Garnacho scored from a cross by Marcus Rashford, changing the mood of Manchester United’s fans.
Hojlund finally scored the goal that earned Manchester United the victory. Brentford could not equalize the game, and the loss led the team to 12th place, while the win boosted Erik Ten Hag’s confidence again.
