Morehead State’s Star Theater presents an array of captivating programs for the spring and summer seasons, boasting popular shows and hands-on science experiences.
Scheduled for Saturday, April 27, at 6:30 p.m., and again on Saturday, July 13, the theater will showcase a planetarium laser show synchronized to the tunes of Taylor Swift, offering an immersive audiovisual experience.
This unique production combines mesmerizing laser art with Taylor Swift’s iconic music, complemented by a full-dome planetarium feature and a live exploration of the celestial night sky. Admission prices are $10 for adults, $5 for children under 5 and seniors, while children under 4 and MSU faculty, staff, and students enjoy complimentary entry.
Throughout the summer, the theater presents a diverse lineup of programming on the second and fourth Saturdays, featuring interactive science activities for children inspired by workshops conducted at Goddard Space Flight Center and the World of Science. Additionally, audiences can enjoy planetarium feature shows suitable for all ages, as well as laser shows accompanied by a selection of popular music tracks.
The Space Science Center‘s Star Theater stands as a cutting-edge digital planetarium serving Eastern Kentucky and its surrounding areas. Operating on a first-come, first-served basis, public shows are offered on the second and fourth Saturdays year-round, providing attendees with an enriching experience that includes feature presentations and guided tours of the night sky. Laser shows are also available on Saturdays, with activity costs subject to variation.
