Earlier today, in a city not too far away, Fan Expo Chicago revealed that “Star Wars” icon Mark Hamill will grace the August convention.
The announcement coincides with celebrations for Star Wars Day and Free Comic Book Day.
Hamill rose to prominence as the beloved hero Luke Skywalker in the iconic movie franchise and later lent his voice to the character The Joker in “Batman: The Animated Series.”
Formerly known as Wizard World Comic Con Chicago, Fan Expo Chicago is scheduled for August 16-18 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois.
Hamill’s appearance at the event will be a rare opportunity for fans to hear his stories, ask questions during a panel, and participate in autograph and photo sessions throughout the weekend.
Joining Hamill are other actors from the “Star Wars” universe, including Diana Lee Inosanto (“Ahsoka,” “The Mandalorian”), Chewbacca actor Joonas Suotamo, Gina Carano (“The Mandalorian”), Eman Esfandi (“Ahsoka”), and Alan Tudyk (“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”).
Additionally, the convention will feature a lineup of non-“Star Wars” guests such as William Shatner, Marisa Tomei, Richard Dreyfuss, Linda Hamilton, Robert Patrick, Morena Baccarin, Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, Skeet Ulrich, Matthew Lillard, Jamie Kennedy, Laurie Metcalf, Sean Gunn, Mario Lopez, and “MythBusters” host Adam Savage.
Tickets for the event will be available for purchase starting at 11 a.m. Eastern Time on May 7 at fanexpochicago.
