Bo Nix rejoins forces with his primary target as the Denver Broncos make waves on Day 3 of the 2024 NFL Draft, engineering a trade to secure Oregon wide receiver Troy Franklin with the 102nd overall pick.
In a calculated move, Denver relinquished the 121st, 136th, and 207th overall picks to Seattle in exchange for the opportunity to draft Franklin, while also acquiring the 235th overall pick.
During the 2023 season, Franklin’s dynamic partnership with Nix propelled the Ducks to a stellar 12-2 record, with Franklin tallying 81 receptions, a team-leading 1,383 receiving yards, and 14 touchdowns. The 6-foot-2, 176-pound athlete not only set a single-season school record but also ranked third in the FBS for receiving touchdowns, while securing second-team All-American and first-team All-Pac-12 honors.
With a remarkable career tally of 25 receiving touchdowns, Franklin’s impact on the field has been consistently stellar, as evidenced by his leadership in receptions, yards, and touchdowns during the 2022 season, where he shared the Pac-12 lead in receiving touchdowns.
Having already demonstrated their on-field chemistry, Franklin and Nix’s connection was further solidified during a private workout held by the Broncos in Eugene in March. Franklin’s positive impression on Denver’s decision-makers paved the way for his selection in the draft.
Ranked as the 58th prospect on The Athletic’s Dane Brugler’s list of top 100 draft prospects, Franklin’s arrival in Denver adds depth and talent to the Broncos’ receiving corps, promising an exciting future on the gridiron.
