Authorities in Dallas are searching for Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice in relation to a serious vehicle accident that occurred Saturday evening.
According to reports from the Dallas Morning News, a vehicle believed to be registered or leased to the 23-year-old Rice was involved in a major crash around 6:20 pm local time in northeast Dallas.
Details remain limited, but a police call sheet confirms that officers are actively trying to locate Rashee Rice as part of their investigation into the incident. It is unclear at this point if the Pro-athlete was behind the wheel or a passenger, nor if anyone was injured or facing potential charges stemming from the accident.
Rice had not been booked into the Dallas County jail as of early Sunday morning.
The rising NFL star, who was drafted in the second round by the Chiefs last year out of SMU, is a Dallas-area native hailing from the Fort Worth suburb of North Richland Hills. He played his entire college career at SMU in Dallas before being selected by Kansas City.
Rashee Rice made an immediate impact as a rookie, emerging as the Chiefs’ top wide receiver last season . He finished second on the team with 79 receptions and 938 receiving yards during the regular season. He also led Kansas City with 7 touchdown catches and added 26 receptions for 262 yards and another score during their postseason run.
