The latest well-known footballer to agree to a summer transfer to the Saudi Pro League is Riyad Mahrez.
The Algerian winger has finalized a £30 million transfer to Saudi powerhouse Al Ahli.
Mahrez was reportedly given permission to skip Manchester City’s preseason tour of the Far East in order to seal the transfer.
With his transfer to Al Ahli, the 32-year-old will team up with well-known Premier League players.
Former Premier League stars Roberto Firmino, Eduoard Mendy, and Ezgjan Alioski will share the locker room with the former PFA Player of the Year at his new club.
According to reports, the former Manchester City star’s weekly salary will fall between £750,000 and £865,000.
The pay is more than three times what Mahrez was receiving from the Premier League’s biggest clubs when playing at the Etihad Stadium.
For the two years he is anticipated to spend with Al Ahli, the Algerian international will earn at least £50m, according to the estimate.
Mahrez’s salary may be broken down into a simple range of £100k to £150k each day, or around £6,000 per hour.
The winger, along with Ilkay Gundogan, who joined Barcelona, is the second member of Man City’s treble-winning side to leave the Etihad Stadium.
