Group Insinuates Putin & Wagner's Prigozhin Deceived The US After Paying For Coup In Russia

A parody Twitter account named “Not Jerome Powell” is insinuating that the United States through the CIA paid $6.2 billion to Russia’s Wagner mercenary group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, to plot a coup against President Putin.

However, in a swift twist, Prigozhin’s strong and unfaltering allegiance to Putin saw him discuss the development with the Russian president and both fooled the US after receiving the funds and called off the match to topple Moscow.

According to some related comments to the tweet which has amassed over 7.4 million views, Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy was also disappointed with Prigozhin.

Some argued in the comment section that the money paid was a very insignificant loss to the US over what they sought to gain, but others said it was taxpayer’s money that should have been put into better helping the economy, instead of funding war.

Yevgeny Prigozhin said he will bring down Putin-led Russia’s leadership, following a rift between the two leaders on how the war in Ukraine has been fought.

Prigozhin who heads a private army of mercenaries that has been fighting alongside the regular Russian army in Ukraine has openly criticized Russia’s military leadership.

He had claimed to have killed some Russian soldiers in retaliation after the state military killed some of his men and “opened fire on a civilian convoy”.

“Those who killed our lads, and tens of thousands of lives of Russian soldiers [in the war in Ukraine] will be punished,” Prigozhin said in an audio message posted to the social media platform Telegram.

“I ask you not to resist. Anyone who does will be considered a threat and destroyed. That goes for any checkpoints and aviation on our way.

The rift between both parties was reported to have ended. Prigozhin will resume his post and all charges brought up against him due to his move will be dropped.
