About Listeria

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, listeria is a bacteria that can cause headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, convulsion, fever, and muscle aches, with more serious complications for pregnant women, young children, and the elderly.

Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes might not look or smell spoiled.

Anyone who has eaten any recalled products and experienced any of the symptoms of Listeria infection is urged to seek medical treatment and tell their doctors about possible Listeria exposure.

Listeria infection could also take 70 days before symptoms start to manifest.
