Man United Draws 2 2 With Leeds After Early Trail

Manchester United rose from Leed’s 2-0 lead to end the game in a draw on Wednesday’s Premier League match at Old Trafford.

Leeds, who is currently under the charge of interim coach Michael Skubala following the dismissal of Jesse Marsch, scored after just 55 seconds through Wilfried Gnonto and added another goal almost as early in the second half courtesy of Raphael Varane who turned the ball into his own net.

But Man United equalized the game with two goals from Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho in the 62nd and 70th minutes, ending the match in a draw.

The match result placed Man United in third place, but just three points above fourth-placed Newcastle who have a game in hand. Leeds’ potentially vital point took them above West Ham and into 16th place on goal difference, a point above the relegation zone.

Manester United had beaten Leeds by a scoreline of 11-3 in their previous two clashes at Old Trafford.

Man United’s former manager, Michael Carrick, was sacked following the club’s seven-game Premier League winless streak.

Leeds struggled to defend for the most part, as their style of play cost them on multiple occasions. Marcus Rashford brought the Red Devils a goal back just past the half-hour mark, and then substitute Jadon Sancho came off the bench to equalize just nine minutes later.

United also had more chances mostly from Alejandro Garnacho. Fred in particular could not maintain possession under the pressing of American duo Weston McKennie and Tyler Adams, the former making his first Premier League start.

Man United and Leeds will square up again at Elland Road in four days time.
