Cameroonians In France Attack Their President Kills One Disrupts Venue For Coming Over To Celebrate 40 Years In Power

Angry Cameroonians living in France stormed an event venue organised by their President, Paul Biya, to celebrate is 40th year in power.

Paul Biya who is 89 years old and currently the oldest and living serving president in the world took over power on 6 November, 1982.

The angry protesters stormed the venue of the event with their Cameroonian flag, destroying the arena. An apparently dead man was seen lying on the ground. He was alleged to be a minister.

Paul Biya’s seventh year tenure as Cameroonian president has been marred with allegations of corruption, social and political instabilty and dwindling economy and security.

He is alleged to be against all forms of political opposition threatening to cut his continuity as president. The country’s key political and economic appointees are reportedly his loyalist, from the speaker of the National Assembly, head of the army and the head of country’s oil and gas company.

Paul Biya’s reign is also reportedly skewed with allegations of terror and violence. He is suspected to be behind the 17 years imprisonment of the former minister of health, Titus Edzoa, on the accusation of theft. Edzoa had earlier resigned his role, to contest the Presidential seat in 1997.

Also another political opponent, Maurice Kamto, was jailed for nine months, after he lost to Paul Biya in 2018 presidential elections.
