Zac Efron was momentarily lost for words before mustering the courage to say he wasn’t ready to have kids, and fatherhood can still hold on.
During an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on May 11, the host, Ellen DeGeneres, asked him if he was ready for children, after acting his role in Firestarter. A movie where he played the father of Ryan Kiera Armstrong, an 11 years old girl with supernatural powers.
“Uh, it’s — I — you know what? I think that was a healthy dose to put me off of it for as long as necessary. I have a bit more growing to do, probably. I don’t know. Yeah, I don’t know what to say now.”
Zac then gave a shoutout to parents, specifically his mum, who was in the audience. “I have a healthy respect for parents, very grateful for them all. I love you so much mom”.
Also, the star revealed to E! News that he is can’t wait to show up whenever there’s a film reboot, after he missed out on a pandemic cast reunion in April 2020, creating talks among high school musical fans.
“Of course, of course, I mean, to have an opportunity in any form to go back and work with that team would be so amazing. My heart is still there. That would be incredible. I hope it happens.”
