Vicky White, a 56 years old ex corrections officer, has reportedly died in a car crash and/or suicide during a police chase in Indiana.

She is charged with helping a capital murder suspect, Casey White, escape from prison.

Both of them were reportedly in the car during the hot police pursuit.

The car crashed and the murder suspect came out afterward saying his wife (referring to the former officer) just shot herself in the head.

“Please help my wife. She just shot herself in the head, and I didn’t do it.”

According to Vanderburgh County Coroner, Steve Lockyear, Vicky White was pronounced dead in a hospital in Evansville, Indiana, around 7 pm, hours after the crash.

The actual cause of death of Vicky will be reported after a thorough investigation by the coroner, reports say.

Vicky White, who was the former assistant director of corrections at the Lauderdale County Jail, and Casey White, though not related by blood, had been in communication for at least two years.

In September 2020, Casey White was charged with two counts of capital murder for the stabbing and killing of 58 years old Connie Ridgeway. Prior to then, he was already in jail for a related home invasion in 2015, car theft, and police ivasion.

Casey White confessed to the death of Ridgeway and was awaiting trial at the Lauderdale County Jail when he escaped.

Following investigations, Vicky White was accused of assisting Casey White’s jail-break, and a warrant for her arrest was issued this April.
