Coal Explosion At Curtis Bay CSX Silos Shakes Baltimore

A ground-shaking explosion rocked the Curtis Bay CSX coal facility at Baltimore and its neighborhood on Thursday shortly before noon.

It was gathered that a propane tank exploded at the CSX Coal Pier in Curtis Bay.

The fire service department as well as the police have been on ground to manage the situation.

No deaths or injuries have been reported as a result of the explosion at the time of this report.

A spokesman said the cause of the explosion was a result of coal dust buildup.

The explosion was heard miles away, rocking the city and shattering some windows.
