Maina Of Pension Reform Task Team Gets 8 Years Jail Term For Money Laundering

Abdulrasheed Maina, the former chairman of the old Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT) has been sentenced to 8 years imprisonment by the Federal High Court Abuja for 2.1 billion Naira fraud.

Abdulrasheed Maina received the jail term from judge Okon Abang, after he was found guilty of all the count charges brought on him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The former PRTT boss received various jail terms for the various charges he was found guilty of, which would run concurrently. He was convicted three years for count 1, five years for count 2, eight years for count 3, eight years for count 4, two years for count 5, five years for count 6, eight years for count seven, three years in jail for count 8, five years for count 9, eight years for count 10, three years for count 11 and three years for count 12.

Abdulrasheed Maina with his company – Common Input Property and Investment Ltd, was found guilty of laundering 2.1 billion naira of pension fund.

The company was ordered to be wound-up and its properties, as well as other properties traced to Abdulrasheed Maina, forfeited to the Federal Government
