Rapper Lil Wayne pleaded guilty before a US District Judge- Kathleen Williams, for the possession of a gold-plated pistol as a convicted felon. The US Federal laws bars any convicted felon from possessing firearms.
The ammunition was discovered in his luggage in his private plane after a search was conducted by warranted officers. The incident happened way back in December 2019, when the rapper arrived in Miami from California.
Lil Wayne, real name Dwayne Michael Carter claims the gold-plated gun was a Father’s Day gift. He faces a maximum jail term of 10 years, though it is speculated that he would get a far lesser term. After his guilty plea, Lil Wayne was granted bail on $250,000 after he must have given up his passport.
Lil Wayne who is 38 years old has previously spent 8 months behind bars for a similar offense.
