Who else gets to notice the trend with MTV base promoting Black Lives Matter by airing the same set of songs. Now there is no problem with airing the same set of music in a row, but what we, the audience don’t understand is how that music promotes the underlying agitation.
Major amongst them is “Locked up”, by Akon. I mean, in that song, Akon depicts he is been locked up because he was caught selling drugs and making money. Or what does this line in the lyrics portray?
“Headin up town to re-up,
Back with a couple keys,
Corner blocks on fire,
Under covers dressed as feens,
Makin so much money,
Products movin’ fast,
Put away the stash,
And as I sold the last bag fucked around and got locked up”
Now how on earth does that help in the current agitation. It even puts the blacks in a deeper mess!
Other songs that are played when its time to stand for the blacks are Izzo by JayZ. Now that’s one song that truly stands for the Black Lives Matter agitation. Check some of the lyrics out…
“I do this for my culture, to let them know
What a nigga look like when a nigga in a roaster
Show them how to move in a room full of vultures
Industry is shady, it needs to be taken over
Label owners hate me, I’m raising the status quo up
I’m overcharging niggas for what they did to the Cold Crush
Pay us like you owe us for all the years that you hoed us
We can talk, but money talks, so talk mo’ bucks”
I guess there are some other songs that are also been played, but I will leave you with these for now…
