Brann Defeat Rangers 3-0 In Europa League As Danny Rohl Starts With Loss

Danny Rohl’s start as Rangers manager got off to a tough beginning with a 3-0 loss to Brann in the Europa League on Thursday.

Just a few days after taking over from Russell Martin, the former Sheffield Wednesday boss couldn’t stop Rangers from getting their first European win of the season.

Bard Finne set up Emil Kornvig and Jacob Sorensen for goals around halftime, and Noah Holm added a final goal that put Brann comfortably in the top eight of the league.

Rangers came out strong and looked like they might score first, but Nicolas Raskin missed two quick chances. Youssef Chermiti also headed straight at the goalkeeper, Mathias Dyngeland.

It wasn’t long before Brann took the lead as Finne’s cross got deflected, and Kornvig was left unmarked at the far post to score in the 40th minute.

Norway struck again just ten minutes into the second half when Sorensen connected with Finne’s perfect free-kick, doubling their lead after some sloppy defending.

Mikey Moore, coming off the bench, had a real chance to pull a goal back but blazed his shot over the bar after Jayden Meghoma’s cross. Then, in the 79th minute, Holm sealed the deal with a strong finish that made it clear the game was over.
