The health status of Billy Joel, an American music boss, has sent a surprise to his fans and lovers all over the globe after being diagnosed with a neurological condition caused by a buildup of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain, Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH).
Billy Joel, who is currently 76-year-old, revealed the sad news on Instagram through his management, mentioning that all upcoming tour dates have been cancelled because of his deteriorating health.
This health challenge has started to impair the music legend’s hearing, vision and balance, one that was visible in his recent stage performance.
“Under his doctor’s instructions, Billy is undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period.
“Your refund will automatically be processed back to the original payment used for the purchase of the tickets”, the statement stated.
His concerts that are scheduled to be held in America and Europe with dates that run from April 26 to July 3, have now been placed on hold as he will put more focus on treatment and recovery.
His supporters worldwide have shown their support and concern for him. Joel is popular for his hit songs, including “Uptown Girl” and”Piano Man.”
The revelation has brought more attention to the rare health challenge, highlighting its effect in the world, even on great celebrities.
