A fight video where a boy slammed and knocked out a female school bully who was attacking him with a bottle & threw a laptop at him is been investigated to see if it was racially motivated.
The incident happened on March 13 at Jehue Middle School in San Bernardino, California. A footage recorded on a phone showed the 14-year-old smaller-sized black girl grabbing at the boy, hitting and scratching him on the face, while the much bigger Latino boy was pressing her head on a table and pushing her off.
The fight quickly escalated when she threw a laptop computer at his face, and he responded by slamming her head on the table, knocking her off instantly.
Watch the video below:
Her friends rushed over to revive her, and one was seemingly berating the boy for his actions. The teacher was present at the time of the fight but was said to be calling the police rather than separating the students.
The Colton Police found her to be the aggressor and charged her with felony assault with a deadly weapon. The boy was also charged with a misdemeanor battery charge. Their investigation revealed that she had struck the boy multiple times with a metallic bottle before the video started recording.
Both 8-graders were suspended and risk being expelled from the school.
The police also said that the fight between them was not racially motivated and that the final findings from the investigation will be sent to the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office, Juvenile Division, for review.
A representative of Rialto Unified School District, which the school falls under, said a “quick and decisive action” was taken against the teacher but did not say exactly what it was.
The mother of the boy claimed the girl got angry and started the fight after her son borrowed a pencil from her and gave it to another person.
