Apple iPhone Voice To Text Writes Trump When Racist Is Said

Apple is subtly saying that President Trump is a racist when its iPhone voice-to-text feature briefly writes ‘Trump” before displaying the correct word when a user says “racist”.

Many iPhone users tried the voice-note experiment and shared the same outcome which was done using various iPhone devices on social media. When the speech recognition feature is being used and the user says “racist”, the word Trump briefly shows before it is immediately replaced by the correct spelling of “racist”. Video below:

Videos of it quickly went viral and Apple was backlashed for being politically biased against the former US leader, despite the dinner its CEO Tim Cook had with Trump after his victory.

The tech giant in a statement through a spokesman said they were aware of the issue which was affecting its dictation and releasing a fix on Tuesday.

Apple also said that when a user says a word, its speech recognition might show other words that have similar phonetic sounds before arriving at the correct word. However, there is no similarity between the word “racist” and “Trump”.

Donald Trump himself has a very long history of being associated with racism and capitalism, and this is not the first time tech giants have been in the news for being a wheel in his wheel of progress.

Like his 2020 election against Biden when he lost, Trump accused Google of political bias, and during his 2024 campaign where he beat Harris, he again accused the biggest search engine of mostly displaying only negative news about him while pushing good stories about Harris. He said he would prosecute Google if he won the election.

Likewise, Facebook was criticized for automatically setting users to follow Trump and JD Vance’s pages after they came out victorious. Meta CEO said it was an old tradition of the company which is done after the end of a Government’s administration.
