A group of teen boys were captured on video brazenly attacking a man in the middle of the road at the intersection of San Vicente Boulevard and McCarthy Vista in Mid-Wilshire, Los Angeles.
There are two accounts of what happened, prompting the LA police to seek further information about what happened from the public, as well as apprehend the offenders. Video below:
An account says the victim had confronted the group of bicyclists for blocking the road and they retorted to attacking him. Another side claimed some of the bicyclists struck his car and when he got down to complain, the group teamed together and started beating him up.
Eye witness called the police who arrived much later when the cyclist had already fled.
The footage saw the group of boys kicking the man as he tried to get up. He then tried protecting his head as other boys came down from their bicycles to join in the attack. The beating did not stop until the motorist became motionless.
The victim survived with minor injuries. He was treated on the scene by paramedics but refused to be transported to the hospital.
From the video, the Los Angeles Police Department said the boys were between the ages of 16 and 18 years old. L.A. Councilwoman Katy Yaroslavsky said their actions were deeply disturbing and asked anybody who recognized any of them or had other information about the attack to contact LAPD Wilshire Area’s Detective Carlos, Serial No. 41244, at 213-922-8229 or anonymously via 800-222-8477.
