
Fulham staged a surprising comeback on Saturday to beat Newcastle United 2-1 in the second half in an interesting game at St. James’ Park.
The goal that decided the victory for Fulham was scored in the 82nd minute by Rodrigo Muniz after successfully converting a free kick from Andreas Pereira. This win marks Fulham’s first win against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park since 2009.
Raul Jimenez scored the first goal for Fulham, marking his ninth Premier League goal this season, while Jacob Murphy netted the first goal for Newcastle United, which gave the team a lead in the first half.
Sandro Tonali and Alexander Isak made attempts that hit the goalpost, but Newcastle ended up suffering their second straight home loss.
Despite the defeat, Newcastle United remain in the fifth position on the Premier League table while they aim to finish in the top four on the same 41 points as fourth-placed Manchester City, who will play against Arsenal on Sunday.
The victory also moved Fulham to ninth position on the table.
