Atletico Madrid has proceeded on the 2024-25 Copa del Rey journey and is now in the semi-finals after comfortably beating Getafe 5-0 at the Metropolitano.
Giuliano Simeone scored the first goal of the match after successfully converting a pass from Javi Galan, then netted another through an assist from Rodrigo De Paul. Atletico Madrid grabs the possession in the early minutes of the game despite excluding key players from their squad.
In their push for dominance and a great lead, Samuel Lino netted a goal to make it 3-0 before the end of the first half through Julian Alvarez’s pass.
The win was sealed in the second half by players who came in as a substitute. Conor Gallagher did a great assist to Angel Correa to net the fourth goal while Correa later assisted Alexander Sorloth to seal the win.
This season favors Atletico Madrid which has won 19 from their last 21 games.
While the team secures the Copa del Rey semi-finals, they will now focus on their local league by the weekend against strong Real Madrid where they will hope to extend their dominance.
