An overly obese rapper named Dank Demoss is suing Lyft after a driver refused to carry her because of her huge size.
A video of the conversation between Dank and the driver saw the man telling the plus-sized woman that she would not be able to conveniently enter and fit inside the car and that her huge weight would wear down his already “tired tires”.
He argued that his Mercedes Benz sedan car was small and apologized to the rapper who still insisted that she could fit in. The shared ride driver advised her to order a bigger Uber XL car. Video below:
Dank Demoss, real name Dajua Blanding, did not take the letdown well and sued the e-taxi-hailing company for weight discrimination. She claimed she had been in the same type of cars and even newer models and the ride went smoothly.
The rapper who saw herself as “phat” said she was embarrassed by the experience which she recorded on her mobile phone and posted on her Instagram page.
“Am I wrong”? She asked her 173k fans, and accused Lyft of treating “big” people like “shit”.
Lyft had responded to the matter saying they condemn all forms of discrimination and looked forward to “equal respect and mutual kindness”. They will not respond further because the matter was already in court.
However, public sentiments is on the side of the driver. Many said they would refuse carrying her because of her weight which might damage their car shocks. Others thought she might damage the car door while trying to enter.
“Yall love to throw out the word sue……. This man is protecting his car. If I was her driver I probably would’ve said the same thing.” – thatgirl__renae_ commented.
“I love you girl but suspensions are expensive!” – cherryyyy_lynn wrote.
“cleo_rich734” criticized the fat rapper for taking the matter up knowing well that the driver might lose his job and his fear was valid.
