Rapper Benedict Chiajulam Ihesiba Jr., popular with the stage name OG Maco from Atlanta, died on Thursday night from complications of a self-inflicted gunshot wound early in December. His death was confirmed by his family; he died at the age of 32.

The rapper was taken to a hospital in Los Angeles on the 12th of December after authorities were notified of a gunfire inside a home. When first responders got to the house, they found the rapper with a gunshot wound to the head and a firearm by his side.

On his arrival at the hospital, an emergency surgery was conducted on him to ensure his stability, but his condition deteriorated while he was in a coma, ultimately becoming critical.

It was reported that doctors found it difficult to conduct reliable brain scans to remove toxins from Maco’s system. He died after all efforts to make him survive failed.

OG Maco became popular as a rapper in 2014 with his famous hit “U Guessed It” and later got the award for “Freshman Class” in XXL’s 2015 as one of hip-hop’s rising stars.

The news of the passing of the talented rapper was announced by his family on social media, mourning his loss. It is unclear if his self shooting was suicide or accidental.
