League leader Liverpool moves to seven points ahead to balance the lead at the top of the Premier League table after a 3-1 commanding victory against Leicester City.
Leicester scored the first goal after Jordan Ayew silenced the Kop. While Liverpool dominated the match, the league leader found it difficult to penetrate the Foxes’ defense as Liverpool delayed set pieces, giving the host a difficult show.
Just before the end of the first half, Egypt talisman Mohammed Salah created a chance that hit the crossbar, but Cody Gakpo soon found the net, making it a draw with an accurate shot from the edge of the penalty box.
Curtis Jones hit the ball from not far away exactly four minutes after the second half began to give Arne Slot’s squad a lead. Salah sealed the victory in the 82nd minute, securing an additional three points for Liverpool.
Liverpool now sits comfortably on the top of the Premier League table, with a game to go as they sit ahead of Chelsea. The loss for Leicester City pushes them to the relegation area.
