Liverpool stays 11 points ahead of Premier League holder Manchester City after a 2-0 victory in Anfield stadium, through goals from Cody Gakpo and Mo Salah.

The Reds had a strong game against Manchester City after they finally broke a years-long record against Real Madrid during the midweek. Arne Slot’s side started the match aggressively, and they got a chance through Virgil van Dijk in the early minutes of the match, but the shot hit the post.

Liverpool scored their first goal through an assist from Egypt forward Mohamed Salah, who delivered a timely cross to Gakpo, who netted the goal.

Virgil van Dijk stars in the game with his presence being felt in both attack and defense; he also missed a header while Liverpool dominated the first half.

Manchester City was dominated by The Reds throughout the first half, managing to create only one attempt when Rico Lewis fired off-target.

Manchester City increased their pressure in the beginning of the second half, but they failed to create clear chances and ended up scoring nothing. Salah also lost a one-on-one opportunity, but the league leader sealed the win in the 78th minute through a penalty kick by Salah after Stefan Ortega committed a foul against Luis Diaz in the box.

Liverpool continues to ensure that they don’t lose this title this time with nine points ahead of Arsenal.

This defeat for Manchester City equals a four-league loss while they hope to get back into form by defeating Nottingham Forest on Wednesday.
