84-year-old former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been hospitalized in Luxembourg after she sustained an injury during an official engagement, as reported by Ian Krager, her spokesperson.
The office of the former speaker mentioned that she is currently undergoing “excellent” care from medical professionals but refused to state the nature of the injury.
“While traveling with a bipartisan Congressional delegation in Luxembourg to mark the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi sustained an injury during an official engagement and was admitted to the hospital for evaluation,” Krager said.
Those who have knowledge about the issue claimed that Nancy Pelosi fell on the stairs, which led to her being hospitalized. She is unbothered as she remains committed to her job despite sustaining injury.
“She continues to work and regrets missing the remainder of the CODEL engagements, which honor the courage of our servicemembers during one of the greatest acts of American heroism in our nation’s history,” Krager stated.
She also appreciated people for the care that has been administered to her and wishes to return to the United States very soon.
This fall is coming after another similar incident that involves a longtime Senate GOP leader, Mitch McConnell, who is 82 years old, tripped and sprained his wrist at the legislative building, the U.S. Capitol.
The Senate leader sustained a little cut on his face but was given the clearance by medical professionals shortly after. The two legislators are not discharging their responsibilities despite the injury they sustained.
