An old video of Kamala Harris recharging an electric vehicle like she was pumping fuel into a car in a gas station has resurfaced online. In the footage, she was standing and holding the plug to the charger after it had been put in, just as one would do holding the nozzle of a gas pump – leaving people wondering how long she intended to stand till it was fully charged.
The video was first shot and uploaded almost three years ago on December 14, 2021, when the VP and now presidential aspirant was showing herself recharging an EV at a Brandywine Maintenance Facility.
The Biden administration then was pushing to make more Americans very able to afford and own an electric car and was making plans to build 500,000 EV charging stations across the country.
However, when Harris made a video on how to use the EV car during the showoff event in Prince George’s County, it backfired because of the awkward way she was holding on to the nozzle as if it was actually pumping gas into the car.
Watch the video below:
“There is no sound or fuel”, she said while noting that there was no smell of fuel or feeling of fuel gushing in. “So how do I know it’s actually working”, she said before letting out a laugh – a laugh that has now been portrayed to sound awkward on X, formerly Twitter.
As the saying goes, “the internet never forgets”, and what better time to dig out awkward memories than during a grand event – the presidential election which is only 12 days away.
