Tottenham made an amazing comeback to beat West Ham 4-1 on Saturday after they scored surprise three goals in just eight frantic minutes in the second half. This win boosts Tottenham’s confidence after they lost against Brighton in their previous match.
Tottenham scored in the first half against West Ham to earn a draw at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Mohammed Kudus scored the first goal in the match and the only goal against Tottenham, while Dejan Kulusevski equalized many minutes later.
The match took a surprising turn when Yves Bissouma’s goal was followed by an own goal from West Ham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola early in the second half, and the last goal by Tottenham’s Son Heung-min sealed the team’s three points.
Tottenham, with this win, now sits in sixth place on the Premier League table, while Ange Postecoglou’s side now secures its third win in four Premier Leagues, while West Ham’s new coach, Julen Lopetegui, continues to face increased pressure since the season started.
Tottenham anticipates this win as much as their fans, who could not hide their excitement after the match, especially after the team fell from a 2-0 lead to Brighton in their previous Premier League match before the club teams went on break.
“Second half was outstanding from the lads — good energy, good goals, good football, probably should have created a couple more,” said Tottenham’s Australian manager Postecoglou.
“That’s what you want to generate at home. The crowd played their part…. We’ve had periods so far this year when we haven’t capitalised but today we did capitalise and if we continue that then we will be hard to stop.”
