Osasuna has moved to the seventh position on the La Liga ranking after beating Las Palmas in a 2-1 home win to secure three points.
Osasuna scored their first goal in the match to earn the first lead in the 39th minute after Ante Budimir courageously converted a penalty that he earned when having his shirt pulled in the Las Palmas box.
However, Las Palmas did not wait much as they returned their own goal just two minutes later, with Alberto Moleiro equalizing to put the game in a 1-1 draw as he headed at the far post, finishing off a well-calculated corner routine.
Las Palmas almost secured an away win when Fabio Silva hit a shot just as he turned inside the box, but his miss would prove costly.
The home side capitalized on a turnover in Las Palmas’ half in the 60th minute, launching a quick counterattack. Almar Oroz, without stress, slotted the ball home to earn Osasuna’s victory and secure three points.
This 2-1 lead for Osasuna boosted their position in the La Liga game, while Las Palmas will rue missed chances as they go below their previous position.
