Colton Moore, a Georgia State Senator, was picked up on Thursday, January 16, by authorities after he attempted to go into the state House chamber even though he had been banned indefinitely last year for a remark he made about late House Speaker David Ralston.

While the Georgia senator was moving closer to the chamber’s gate to participate in a joint session addressed by the state governor, Brian Kemp, he was approached by a doorman and claimed a constitutional right to go into the chamber.

A conflict immediately erupted with the senator pushed to the ground before Georgia State Patrol troopers handcuffed him. He was charged with obstruction of law enforcement. According to Fox News, he was moved to Fulton County Jail after he was arrested.

“Despite multiple verbal warnings and several attempts to de-escalate the situation, Sen. Moore persisted in his attempts to disrupt official proceedings inside the House Chamber,” the statement said.

“The disturbance escalated further when Sen. Moore pushed into troopers multiple times.”

“Senator Colton Moore, who exposed and defeated corrupt Fani Willis last year, has been arrested by the anti-Trump Speaker of the Georgia House,” Mr. Moore’s office said in a statement.

“Colton is being held in the same Atlanta jail as President Trump. We are working to ensure his expedient release. Please pray for all those standing up for freedom and peace for all Georgians.”
