Adrian Wojnarowski Leaves ESPN To Work For St Bonaventure

Adrian Wojnarowski No Longer With ESPN Goes To Accept Role At St Bonaventure

Adrian Wojnarowski is retiring from his position as a senior NBA insider at ESPN and will be moving to St Bonaventure to take up a general manager role. He had been with the news outlet for seven years.

Adrian made the announcement on Wednesday morning via X, and many are understandably surprised by the news, as he will be walking away from a substantial $20 million deal, as reported by The Athletic.

However, the 55-year-old is beyond thrilled to return to his Alma Mater, St Bonaventure, where he will be overseeing the men’s basketball program. According to him, he is leaving the news industry entirely because he no longer feels compelled to make a living as a sports writer.

Instead, he wants to dedicate his time to other personal and meaningful projects. Adrian told ESPN that he is looking forward to bringing value to the basketball program and helping young athletes find opportunities to grow “both professionally and personally.”

Adrian Wojnarowski’s responsibilities as a general manager at St. Bonaventure include guiding the staff in matters related to Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) duties, overseeing player transfers, building relationships with potential players, managing programs for professional players, and leading efforts to raise funds for the program.

Before ESPN, the award-winning sports journalist had previously spent 10 years working at Yahoo Sports and another 10 years at The Record Of New Jersey. He occasionally credits the Hartford Courant for giving him his first byline.
