A woman fell to her death after she stepped back from a treadmill she was running on, and fell off a low and open window just behind her.
The negligent accident happened in Pontianak, Indonesia, at about 1 pm on Tuesday, when the 22-year-old woman, yet to be named, was working out in a gym.
She had been running on the treadmill for about 30 minutes when she used her towel and stopped to step off the back. Unfortunately, there was an open window just about 60cm from the treadmill and only about a foot high, right behind her.
She tripped at the edge of the open window and fell three stories down the gym building.
She was rushed to the hospital with serious head injuries but later lost her life.

An autopsy report revealed that she had suffered extensive bruising and lacerations to her head due to the fall.
The gym’s management said there were warning stickers on the windows telling people not to open the windows, however, the stickers were damaged. It also said the treadmills were backing the windows so as not to block the view.
The gym had instructors, but the person was duty was on break when the incident happened.
The gym was subsequently closed for three days and under investigation for alleged negligence, while its operating permit is also been re-examined.
