Just Stop Oil activists and fan of Taylor Swift herself targeted what they thought was the singer’s private jet in a UK airport and sprayed it with orange paint to protest climate change.
The protester, identified as 28-year–old Jennifer Kowalski was arrested at London Stansted Airport after she defamed an aircraft at the private airfield which she thought belonged to Taylor Swift by spraying orange colored oil paint on it.
The Just Stop Oil protester and her fellow campaigner, 22-year-old Cole Macdonald, was detained by the Essex Police, on Thursday morning.
Kowalski was a fan of Taylor Swift and shared a backstage photo with the singer nine years ago. According to the tabloid referencing MailOnline, Kowalski referred to Taylor Swift as her hero and ‘legend’, and said a lyric about being ‘polite’ but ‘powerful’ was her favorite quote.
The security of the Stansted airport was put under question when Just Stop Oil said the women gained entry into the restricted airfield of the airport by cutting the fence. In the post on X, the group demanded “an emergency treaty to end fossil fuels by 2030.”
After spraying the fuselage and windows of the plans, both girls sat and shared a hug.

“Over the years, I’ve had to realise that even working in sustainability provides me with essentially no ability to make the necessary changes to prevent the complete collapse of our natural systems. I have to take desperate measures to make my voice heard”, Jennifer Kowalski said in a statement on Just Stop Oil.
“In 2024 we all have to be considering what we can do each day to change the course our society is on. We need an emergency treaty to stop the extraction and burning of oil, gas and coal by 2030.”
“We’re living in two worlds: one where billionaires live in luxury, able to fly in private jets away from the other, where unliveable conditions are being imposed on countless millions”, Cole Macdonald added.
“Meanwhile, this system that is allowing extreme wealth to be accrued by a few, to the detriment of everyone else, is destroying the conditions necessary to support human life in a rapidly accelerating never-ending ‘cruel summer’. Billionaires are not untouchable, climate breakdown will affect every single one of us.”
The attack on the supposedly Taylor Swift aircraft is coming after two Just Stop Oil protesters sprayed Stonehenge with orange paint on Wednesday, sparking worldwide condemnation.
The Stonehenge is a monument located in a prehistoric site in in Wiltshire, England. The attack was carried out by 21-year-old Niamh Lynch, a student at the University of Oxford, and 73-year-old Rajan Naidu from Birmingham.
